If you are visiting Bali and are interested to learn more about the (garment) production process and source fabrics/trims and manufacturers for your project, the Sourcing Tour from The Bali Curator may be an interesting option for you to look into: www.thebalicurator.com/sourcingtour

  • What is your MOQ?

We do not have a Minimum Order Quantity. Why? Because we want to support our clients in producing only what they need, in order to avoid over-production and waste.

  • Where are you located?

Bali Sewing Studio is located at the first floor inside The Bali Curator office, at jl. Gunung Soputan 61 in West Denpasar. If you would like to visit, we kindly ask you to make an appointment. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate a spontaneous meeting if you visit our studio without an appointment.

Bali Sewing Studio is a sister company of The Bali Curator, and we share our workspace, administration and management.

  • Can you take pictures of my sample development and/or production process?

Yes, we would love to! We offer photography services to create a photo story of the process behind your products. You can use these pictures to tell the story of how your products were made to your customers.

  • Can you source fabrics for my project?

We have good relationships with a lot of fabric suppliers in both Bali and Java, and we can help with fabric sourcing, based on your concept and individual needs for your project. • What does sustainability mean to Bali Sewing Studio?

A lot! We try to minimize waste in our studio, and as much as possible re-use our ‘waste’. We prefer to work with organic cotton, linen, Tencel, Cupro, fabrics made of recycled fibers and locally handwoven textiles. We also like to collaborate with natural dye studios.

By focusing on quality rather than quantity, we provide the possibility for our clients to produce only in quantities that they actually need. This way we can together avoid overproduction and waste.

Are we perfectly sustainable? No, we are not. We do for example use air-conditioning on a daily basis in our studio and we regularly ship products to our overseas clients. Having said that, we’re trying to become better each day, and always look for solutions and innovations. If you have any suggestions for how we can become more sustainable, we would love to hear from you.

  • How much is the investment for your services?

You can find some more information about our services and pricing in our Services Catalogue: Access our catalogue

We will always make a custom proposal for your individual project. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss your enquiry with us and receive a more detailed quotation.

  • How long does it take for my order to be finished?

We understand the importance of planning and timelines for your business and will therefore always provide an individual planning for each order at the start of the project. On average, prototype development takes around 12 weeks (including fabric sourcing, techpack making, fitting sessions and revisions).

The lead time for your cut and sew order depends on the details of your project, as well as our waiting list. In general, a cut&sew order will take 4 - 8 weeks, including quality control. Please note that this is counted from when all materials are ready, and pre-production samples are confirmed.

For a first project, we usually advice our clients to prepare around 8 months for the process from fabric sourcing until shipment of the production.

Please note that we are blessed with a high demand from clients wanting to work with us, and therefore we usually have a waiting list. We recommend making your booking for a project 1 - 2 months before your preferred startdate.

  • How do I need to present my brief to you?

If you are interested in developing your styles with us, please create a moodboard with reference pictures of styles that you like. We will start the project with a meeting to discuss your vision for the project.

If you would like to book our cut & sew services to make your styles, we require either a confirmed techpack, confirmed patterns or a confirmed prototype (ideally all three of them) as a reference (please make sure that the prototype is yours and you have permission to have it copied).

  • How do you guarantee quality for my order?

This is a very valid question, as we see many brands struggling to keep their quality consistent, especially when they start scaling to larger order quantities.
We have a very strict internal policy when it comes to pre-production samples and quality control. We will only start production after we have a confirmed pre-production sample in each size. These pre-production samples will serve as references during production and also during quality control. By being very strict on this procedure and confirming all details up front, our production and quality control team know exactly what is expected. If an item does not pass our quality control, we will have it revised or remade.

When we talk about quality, we do not only mean the quality of the final products, but also the quality of our communication and consultation for our clients. We spend a lot of time and effort training our team in order to make sure our clients feel very comfortable working with us.

  • Is Bali Sewing Studio part of The Bali Curator?

Yes, Bali Sewing Studio is owned and managed by PT The Bali Curator. Our studio is based inside The Bali Curator office.
